300h+ Yoga Immersion Program & Teacher Training

This two year program teaches you to unlock your body’s inner guidance – its somatic wisdom – and confidently share the practice of yoga.

You will learn how the human body organizes and expresses movement through perception, looking in depth at the role of the fascial system as the preeminent organ of the mind-body connection. You will also learn how the process of internal perception “interoception” works as the body-mind’s ability to identify, access, understand, and respond appropriately to its internal signals.

Conscious embodiment can help us not only improve our posture and physical movement, but also become more perceptive and compassionate beings.

Offering an experiential understanding of the structural foundation of the human body in motion and in stillness, this program offers self-explorations that allow you to transform your sensory experienceexpand your awareness, and make embodiment—your own complex body—the focus of contemplative practice.

About Delara

What sets apart this teacher training program is the expertise of Delara Tiv, an Advanced Rolfing Structural Integration therapist ™ who specialises in the human body and movement education. With a background as a professional dancer and teacher, Delara draws from the inner world of embodied experience to help movement practitioners feel movement from the depth of their being and release their full potential .

Delara brings a unique understanding of the body’s mechanics and the importance of proper alignment. Her experience as a dancer has given her valuable insights into enhancing performance through imagery and effective perception. Delara has had the privilege to tour with the Alvin Ailey Dance company as their Rolfing therapist and Movement educator to help dancers deal with past injuries and enhance their quality of movement. In addition to her work as a therapist, Delara is currently undergoing training to become a faculty member of the European Rolfing® Association, further solidifying her commitment to excellence in her field. She also plays an active role in Rolfing® Education in Europe, assisting in the education and development of future practitioners.
An avid student of yoga for close to 20 years, Delara continues her studies in the darshans of Sāṃkhya, Vedanta, Tantra, Ayurveda and Vedic Chanting, alongside remaining a committed practitioner and teacher of Ashtanga yoga. Delara’s dedication to her own growth and mastery is evident in her constant devotion to the demanding practice of Ashtanga Yoga. About James

James Boag is known for his storytelling, his rich kirtans, deep meditations, principle-based approach to āsana and movement, and for his unique capacity to bring the timeless wisdom of the traditional scriptural teachings vividly into the context of our lives today.

Originally from Yorkshire, UK, with a degree in French and Italian, a Master’s Degree in Sanskrit from India, and having lived in several countries including many years in India, James has an exceptional ability to bridge and communicate across cultures, whether he is speaking at a conference in India, working with school or university students in Asia, or communicating the practical essence of yoga to students from parts of the world where the yoga context is not part of their cultural background.
Having begun studying Sanskṛt while he was teaching English at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok. James then lived in Mysore 2008-12 studying with traditional Sanskṛt paṇḍit-s and completing his Sanskrit MA. All the while, he was also sharing courses on Yoga Sūtra, Bhagavad Gītā and Indian Mythology, working direct from the original texts, and when away from India, sharing integrated yoga retreats, workshops and courses – movement and āsana, meditation and kīrtan, practical philosophy, mythology, storytelling, study of texts and Sanskṛt recitation – around the world.
James’ students appreciate how he makes the ancient teachings highly relatable, inviting us to develop an ongoing, personal relationship with the timeless wisdom of the yoga tradition.
We are especially pleased that he is contributing to this course in multi-lingual Vevey as he is able to do this in French, Italian and Spanish as well as his native English and can mentor students on this course in all these languages.
James’ practice, teaching and study continue to evolve from their roots in the Shankaracaraya Vedic, Kashmiri Shaiva, and Sanskṛt traditions.

Introduction to Body Reading

1 weekend intensive on Yogic Meditation: Chakras & the Subtle Body 

Different to Vedantic or Buddhist meditation, yogic meditation contains the same structural elements as yogic postures and breathing and was designed to form together with those an integrated whole. Meditation is the method of bringing your mind into a receptive state
 so that you can receive higher knowledge that is already there. By understanding the chakras and skillfully meditating on them yoga offers the opportunity to activate higher brain centres and propel the evolution not only of the individual but of society as a whole. Kundalini-raising techniques consist of a combination of all other yogic means to raise the life force (prana) to a level where meditation is easy and spiritual insight becomes spontaneous.

1 Weekend intensive Ayurveda, Sānkhya Philosophy & Yoga 

  • Fundamental principles of Ayurveda

2 weekend intensives Therapeutics & Working with Injuries ( Pre-requisits: Anatomy courses)

A course to help you recognise and understand common conditions in the yoga community and practical applications for optimal self healing of these. 

We cover a variety of exercise therapy from myo-fascial release, somatic movement, functional mobilisations, strength and resistance work, stretching and adaptations of and applications to yoga postures.

We will cover all the common pathologies and injuries of the Upper limbs, lower limbs, spine and pelvis. 

Pre-requisite to this course is to have studied the Functional Anatomy courses already with Delara

Tuition & Registration

The total cost for complete 300-hour training  is 7500 CHF-, which can be paid in 8 instalments of 940 CHF- . Students who decide to do the whole program are required to fully commit to the payment, even if they decide not to continue, become pregnant, ill, injured, or move away. Students can take up to 3 years to complete the assignments or any missed modules.

Early Bird  6900 CHF-To benefit from the early bird rate, full payment must be received before July 31, 2024.

Refunds are not posible after payment.

Priority is given to the practitioners that want to commit to the whole program. If space permits then individual modules will become open for others to attend.

Certification

This training is approved by Yoga Alliance for those interested in completing their 500H teacher training.

200H Requirement: If you are already a 200h Certified teacher you can use this 300h training to become a 500h Certified Yoga Teacher. 

If you do not have a prior 200h training, You can use this Course to become a 200h/300h certified yoga teacher but you will need to take an additional 200h  training to complete 500h. 

Further training at this center will be possible. 

Completion of Assignments: Completion of all assignments and full attendance of all hours is required to obtain a certification of completion. Written assignments can be submitted in English, French, Spanish or Italian.

Missed Modules: In case of emergency or illness, if you miss a module, you can make it up with another intensive in the third year.

Proficient Asana Practice: Students need to embody a refined understanding of the physical practice and maintain a proficient asana practice.

Patience and Diligent Practice: Students need to demonstrate the foundation qualities of yoga practice: diligence, courage, commitment and a spirit of inquiry. You are responsible for your personal practice. This course will empower you with tools to fortify and expand a lifelong, evolving practice.

Adaptation for Individual Needs: As a therapist, I understand that certain postures may not be possible for certain people due to their morphology, age, past injuries, and constitution. Students need to demonstrate understanding of the intention and application of different postures and how to adapt them appropriately to different bodies, including themselves. 

Attendance Requirement: To receive certification and claim that you have been a student and trained as a teacher at Casa Vinyasa, you need to attend a minimum of 10 led Ashtanga classes and 50 Mysore classes within 2 years at our center, in addition to completing the required teacher training hours. Please note that these classes are not included in the tuition price. If you live more than 1 hour away from Vevey, please consult Delara for alternative options.

Assisting Requirement: You need to assist 15 classes, including observing and assisting under my guidance, teaching a beginner the primary series in a Mysore class, etc… This is a mentorship included in your tuition fee.

Teaching Requirement: All students have to teach at least one donation-based vinyasa class in person at the studio. The donation will go to a Humanitarian Organisation of their choice.

As a long term practitioner, student and teacher of haṭ ha yoga I feel that the picture we are often accustomed to in the yoga world is very incomplete,
wonky, and imbalanced. I find the incredible stress on the mere physical very problematic. James’ teachings always ‘complete the picture’ and help me see things from a more balanced perspective that helps me bring more balance into my life. Still, I would say if you are considering joining a course with James, just do it! Make the choice and you will soon know it is worth it. You can eat a rainbow salad of fresh ingredients or a beige processed fish and chips, you’ll know the difference. You can fill your time with all sorts of things, but James’ teaching is really the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. The only way I know to go deeper is to slow down. James’ teachings consistently invite a deepening, prompting me to slow down, to observe more skilfully and subtly.

James is the real deal. His approach ensures the teachings are never merely intellectual. Access to a Sanskṛt recitation practice has
had a profound impact on my life and practice. I arrange time away from work (on the West Coast of the US) to be able to join the sessions in his online courses. This in itself helps me bring more focus to my week and starting the week with a session immersed in these teachings gives me a strong reminder of where to keep my focus. Before these courses, the yogic perspective or Indic worldview had felt quite distant. I didn’t really ‘enter’ it, it all felt so disparate, so many strands and so many stories. James’ teachings have provided a holistic and integrated context. He has lived in Indic culture and integrated the context that he translates and transmits to people who have not had that access. It has given me a basis to understand the foundation principles of where the teachings are coming from and what those foundations are, a sense of the overall cosmology. Having that context of core components gives me a basis to orient from as I continue my own study and practice, giving me options and a platform to dive deeper with the teachings that most resonated for me. Even for people who are not intent on yoga, this content is still so helpful. It is so valuable to be exposed to diverse world views. These days, with censorship and extreme partiality built in to so much of the media, it can be so easy to get swept up by mass mentality and it can be difficult to find someone who has direct experience with a lineage that goes back to antiquity. So many of us these days rely on relatively recent information that does not have a thread going back and has not been proven in the furnace of time. The fact that there is a substantiated lineage underpinning what James shares is so very helpful, it broadens perspective and brings access to so much practical and supportive insight.

We live in difficult times; it is often hard to know the difference between the truth and mis / disinformation. Any opportunity to engage with
these teachings unsullied by the lenses of 21st century political and social agendas is a welcome relief and should be grasped gratefully with both hands. They could not be more relevant in our confused and disheartened society.
