Meet Delara

Delara Tiv is an Advanced Certified Rolfing® Structural Integration Therapist and movement educator specializing in human structure, biomechanics, and embodied movement.

With a background as a professional dancer and teacher, her work bridges therapeutic bodywork, movement education, and contemplative practice. Drawing from her experience in dance, structural integration, and yoga, Delara helps practitioners cultivate a deeper perception of movement, alignment, and breathing, allowing them to move with greater efficiency and awareness.

She has worked internationally with dancers and athletes, including touring with the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater as a Rolfing therapist and movement educator, supporting dancers in recovering from injuries and refining their quality of movement.

Alongside her clinical work, Delara is actively involved in the education of future practitioners within the European Rolfing® community and continues to deepen her expertise through ongoing study in structural integration, Barral osteopathy, and the Neijing tradition of Chinese medicine.

An eternal student by nature, Delara has been practicing yoga for over two decades. She continues her studies in the philosophical traditions that inform yoga, including Sāṃkhya, Vedānta, Tantra, Ayurveda, and Vedic chanting, while maintaining a committed daily practice of Ashtanga Yoga.

Her personal path with yoga began in 2003 during her university studies and professional dance training, where the practice initially served as a means of cultivating balance amidst the physical and mental demands of that period. In 2009, while living in Madrid, she encountered the Ashtanga Vinyasa system through Borja Romero and experienced the profound impact that a consistent daily practice can have on every aspect of life.

Over the years she has had the privilege to study with a number of respected teachers including David Garrigues, Richard Freeman, Gregor Maehle, Rolf Naujokat, Linda and Gerald Diss, and John Scott. She continues to practice, assist, and demonstrate for David Garrigues, whose guidance has been particularly influential on her path.

Delara holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Geography and Spanish Literature from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. After many years traveling internationally as a dancer, she now resides in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland, where she founded Ashtanga Yoga Vevey in 2018 and continues to share her work through teaching, therapy, and ongoing study.
